About this product
On a long wet day the difference between 2.5 and 3 layers shows after about the fourth hour. Brackwater's 3-layer Weatherline fabric has a bonded inner face that stands up to pack straps rubbing all day. It's rated to 20,000mm, breathes at 20,000g/m²/24h and weighs 390g in a size 12.
The cut is shaped at the waist with room for a fleece, and the hood has a wired peak and a one-hand adjuster. We test Brackwater on Dartmoor every winter. Its zips and cord locks come from the short Hale parts list, so any of our repair benches can fix it.
- 3-layer recycled nylon with a PFAS-free finish
- Wired peak and a one-hand hood adjuster
- Pit zips for long climbs
- Hand pockets placed above a hip belt
- Spare parts kept for seven years after the line ends

Dry after eight hours on Kinder
Walked the Kinder plateau in sideways rain from nine till five and stayed dry underneath. The hood moves with my head when I turn to check the map. Worth the money.

Croagh Patrick in a squall
Went up the Reek in October with rain coming in off Clew Bay. Bone dry. The pockets clear my pack belt, which I didn't know I needed until now.

Excellent, but the colour
Performs brilliantly on the Roaches in rain. The blue is quite a bit darker than it looked on my screen, more navy than teal. Not a problem, just not what I expected.
