About this product
Cleugh sits between our packable Intake and the 3-layer Brackwater. It weighs 340g in size M, the 2.5-layer Weatherline fabric is rated to 15,000mm, and the hand pockets are cut high so you can reach them with a pack's hip belt done up.
The hood has a wired peak and adjusts at the back and both sides. We tested it on Dartmoor through the winter of 2024, where the wind drives rain sideways for hours, and moved the cuff tabs after testers said they caught on gloves. Like all Hale waterproofs, it carries the lifetime repair promise.
- Hand pockets set high to clear a hip belt
- Wired peak with three-point hood adjustment
- Cuff tabs moved after Dartmoor testing so they don't catch on gloves
- 40D recycled nylon face, PFAS-free water-repellent finish
- Fully taped seams and a soft chin guard

Wetted out on the shoulders after a year
Very happy for the first year. Then the shoulders started to soak through under my pack straps, so I washed and reproofed it and it's beading again. Worth knowing you need to look after it.

Good hood
Wore it on the Ring of Steall in sideways rain. The hood turns with your head and the peak keeps rain off your face, which my last jacket never managed. Pockets are above my hip belt like they say.
