About this product

If you want one boot for winter hillwalking with C1 crampons and summer days on rocky ridges, the Garburn covers both. Wayfell made the women's version on its own lower-volume last, and the leather is 2.4mm, a touch thinner than the men's, which saves about 140g.

A full rubber rand protects the leather on scree, and the Wayseal membrane keeps out snowmelt. In a UK 5 a pair weighs 1,260g. Give it several shorter walks before a big day.

Care

Clean after every muddy walk and dry slowly at room temperature. Wax the leather, working it into the creases across the toes.

    Lochnagar in snow

    Did Lochnagar from the Spittal of Glenmuick in March with crampons on. Warm and dry, and stiff enough on the hard snow near the top.
