About this product
You wear the Tern on your left thumb, on top of the map, so you can keep the map turned the right way while you run or walk without stopping to take a bearing. Orienteers and fell runners navigate this way, and it suits anyone moving quickly over open ground such as the Howgills or the Ochils.
A fast-settling capsule keeps the needle steady at a jog. The front edge carries a 1:25,000 scale, and the whole thing weighs 19g.
- Worn on the left thumb over the map
- Needle settles in under a second
- 1:25,000 scale on the leading edge
- Weighs 19g

Keeps the map set
Tried it at a night score event on Ilkley Moor in October. Easy to keep the map turned the right way while running. It took a few minutes to get used to.
