About this product

This is the compass we hand out on our beginners' navigation walks and to school groups. Its liquid-filled capsule settles in under three seconds, it has romer scales for 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 maps, and a 2x magnifier helps with the small print.

There is no declination adjustment, which keeps it simple: across most of Britain the gap between grid north and magnetic north is now small enough to ignore on a short leg. It comes on a lanyard with a breakaway clip.

Good first compass
Bought it for my son's first navigation walk from the shop. Clear scales and it settles quickly. The bezel is stiff to turn with cold fingers.
