About this product
Lownd is the Cumbrian word for a calm, sheltered spot out of the wind. This is our warmest fleece: a 300g/m² brushed fleece with a close hood that fits under a waterproof hood without bunching.
Wear it as the outer layer on a dry, frosty day in the Peak, or under a shell when the wind picks up on the tops. Smooth, harder-wearing panels cover the shoulders and hips, where pack straps wear a fleece out first.

Proper winter fleece
Wore it under my shell on the Ring of Steall in February and stayed warm along the ridge. Heavy for summer, but that's not what it's for.

Warm, bulky in the pack
Very warm round the campsite at Kielder. Takes up half my daypack when I take it off, so mostly I leave it on.
