About this product
Strath is for children who carry their own share of the tent and a sleeping bag on two and three-day school expeditions. The back adjusts from 38 to 48cm to fit most 11 to 15-year-olds, and a padded hip belt carries 8 to 12kg comfortably.
The sleeping bag goes in a separate bottom compartment, and the rain cover lives in its own pocket underneath it. Our hire counters lend this pack to more school groups than any other. It uses Hale's standard buckles, so repairs are quick.
- 45 litres with a separate sleeping bag compartment
- Back adjusts from 38 to 48cm
- Padded hip belt with two zipped pockets
- Rain cover in a base pocket
- Standard Hale buckles, quick to replace

Good pack, heavy-ish
Comfortable and tough. At 1.4kg empty it isn't light, but for a 14-year-old's first expedition I'd pick sturdy every time.

Fitted properly at last
The shop fitted it to my daughter in ten minutes. She carried 10kg for two days in the Black Mountains and said the hip belt did most of the work.
