About this product

Older children carry more: a spare layer, lunch, water, a map and the first aid kit the group leader hands them. The Howe 20 has a back length that adjusts from 34 to 44cm, so it keeps fitting from about age 8 to 14.

A light webbing hip belt takes some weight off the shoulders. Inside is a sleeve for a 1.5-litre reservoir, and the lid pocket holds snacks. The buckles are standard Hale parts that our repair benches keep in stock.

Grows with him
Bought when he was eight and he's eleven now, with the back let out twice. He did the Pap of Glencoe in the summer carrying all his own kit.
