About this product

The Bield 400 takes children camping from April to October in Britain. It has 400g/m² of recycled hollowfibre and a fitted hood, and we rate it comfortable to about 4°C in our own tests at Hale House.

Mummy-shaped and 160cm long inside, it fits most children up to about 150cm tall. A draught tube runs behind the zip and a guard stops the zip snagging. School camps in May or September usually see nights of 4°C to 8°C, the range it was designed for.

Bulky to pack

Warm on a frosty night
Two nights at Glenmore in May with frost on the tent. My daughter slept in it with leggings and a hat and was toasty.
