About this product
The 28 is the Fellgate most of our customers buy. The extra six litres over the 22 take a winter hat and gloves or a group shelter, and the back is 3cm longer to suit taller walkers. It carries well up to about 9kg.
Our product team at Hale House carried the samples on Dartmoor through two winters before it went into stores. If a zip fails or a buckle snaps, any Swift & Hale repair bench will fix it free for as long as you own the pack.
- Lid with two zipped pockets and a key clip
- Side compression straps hold a foam mat or folded poles
- Yellow rain cover in the base, easy to see in mist
- Two zipped hip belt pockets that take a phone
- Standard buckles and zips that every repair bench stocks

Takes all my winter kit
I take it on the Dark Peak in winter with a flask, spare gloves, a group shelter and microspikes, and the lid still closes. The yellow rain cover is easy to spot when you're at the back of a group.

Back too long for me
Well made and the pockets are good, but I'm 5ft 2 and the hip belt sat low on my hips. The shop suggested the 22, which fits better, so I swapped.

Third summer and still going
Carried it over most of the fells round Borrowdale and it still looks decent. One buckle snapped when I shut it in the car boot, and the Keswick shop fitted a new one while I had a coffee.
