About this product
Hale tents are heavier than Swift ones because the fabrics are thicker. The Dodd 2 has a 75D polyester flysheet and a 150D groundsheet, and it will take years of school trips and stony pitches before it wears through.
Both poles use the standard Hale sections that every repair bench stocks. On Dartmoor our testers time how long it takes to swap a broken section in the field: on this tent it is under five minutes with the spare in the bag. We keep parts for seven years after a line ends.
- Two poles made from standard Hale sections, spare included
- 75D polyester fly that stays taut in rain
- Flysheet finished with a PFAS-free water repellent
- Porch of 1.3m², with a door that zips from either side
- Inner clips in, so you can pitch the fly first

Kept us dry on the coast path
Four nights between Lynmouth and Combe Martin, rain on two of them. Dry inside every morning apart from a bit of condensation near the vents.

Heavy but solid
Weight is noticeable on a long day but I would rather this than worry about it in the wind. Plenty of room for two with packs in the porch.

Our school has eight of these
We use them for expedition training on Dartmoor. Teenagers are not gentle with tents and these keep coming back. The one pole that snapped was fixed at the bench in Okehampton the same week.
