About this product

The Petrel 1 goes over your sleeping bag and mat and keeps off the dew and drizzle. It is a three-layer fabric that lets moisture out, so your down bag stays drier than it would under a plastic survival bag.

A side zip runs a third of the way down, and the hood has a drawcord and a mesh panel for when the midges are out. We use them on summer nights on the Glyderau, when a tent feels like more than you need.

  • Three-layer fabric rated to 20,000mm
  • Side zip with a storm flap
  • Mesh panel in the hood for midge nights
  • Room for a sleeping mat inside the bag
  • Outer fabric has a PFAS-free water repellent

Good, tight with a fat mat

My 7cm air mat only just fits inside with the bag. With a thinner mat it would be roomy. Breathes better than my old one.

    Night on Ben Wyvis

Slept out on the summit in June with a light down bag inside this. A bit of damp at the foot by morning, otherwise dry. Packs to nothing.
