Share fraud

Fraudsters may offer to buy your shares at a high price in return for an upfront fee, or sell you shares that are worthless or do not exist. Swift & Hale will never contact you to offer to buy or sell your shares.

If someone calls, writes or emails you about your shares without being asked:

  • take the name of the person and the firm, then end the call;
  • check the Financial Services Register on the FCA's website to see whether the firm is authorised, and contact it only through the details on the Register;
  • read the FCA's ScamSmart advice and check its warning list;
  • do not hand over money or personal details until you are sure the firm is genuine.

If you think you have been approached by a scammer, report it to the FCA through its website.

Employee benefit trust

The Swift & Hale Employee Benefit Trust buys shares in the market to meet awards under our share plans, so those awards do not add new shares. Its trustee is Swift & Hale Trustees Limited, a subsidiary of the company. The trust held 860,000 shares, 0.9% of the issued share capital, at 31 January 2026, after buying 425,000 shares for £1.3m during FY26. It bought a further 280,000 shares for £0.9m in the first half of FY27. The trustee has waived its right to dividends on the shares it holds and does not vote them.
