About this product

There is no frame in the Nuthatch. A folded foam sleeping mat slides into a sleeve against your back and stiffens it, which saves weight but means the pack only carries well up to about 9kg.

That suits a summer week on the West Highland Way with a light tent and a quilt. Take off the lid and hip belt and it drops to 520g. Each shoulder strap holds a 500ml soft flask where you can reach it.

Light, needs careful packing
Took it on a three-day trip in the northern fells with about 8kg. Very comfortable once I'd got the mat folded right, which took a couple of goes.
