About this product

Stainless steel is heavier than aluminium and slower to heat, but it puts up with scouring pads and being knocked about in a car boot for years. The Hirsel has 2.5, 1.8 and 1.2-litre pans, a 20cm frying pan and two lids with strainer edges.

One clip-on handle fits every pan, so nothing sticks out when they nest. The whole set packs into a canvas bag about the size of a large saucepan. It is the cook set our hire counters lend out with family tents.

  • 2.5, 1.8 and 1.2 litre pans plus a 20cm frying pan
  • Two lids with strainer edges
  • One clip-on handle fits every pan
  • Works on gas stoves and induction hobs at home
  • Nests into a canvas carry bag

    Heavy but worth it

Too heavy to carry far, but fine from the car. The single handle takes practice. I nearly lost a pan of pasta the first night.

    Third summer, still flat

We camp most weekends from May to September. These pans have been scrubbed with sand, left on the stove and dropped down a bank near Golden Cap. The bases are still flat.
